✨️Are these products really worth your money?💸

It’s surprisingly easy to get caught up in the excitement of wanting the latest must-have items. I’ll be honest — in my early twenties, I made my fair share of impulse purchases, chasing after trends without much thought.

This year, I'm focusing on being more intentional with my spending — seeking out true ‘investment’ pieces, from clothing and everyday essentials to technology.

Here are my honest reflections on the products I believe are worth the splurge — and the ones that aren’t.

💭 What’s a product you wish you hadn’t purchased? I’d love to hear!

Why did no one tell me about these apps sooner?! Why did no one tell me about these apps sooner?!

If I could turn back time, these are the apps and tools I wish I had discovered earlier — they've made everyday life, productivity, trip planning, money stuff, and even reading so much easier.

❌ Part 1 of Things I No Longer Buy (or Refuse to ❌ Part 1 of Things I No Longer Buy (or Refuse to Buy) in My Twenties ❌

Ever looked at a purchase and thought… why did I buy this?

Yeah, same. Whether it was a late-night impulse buy or something I was convinced I “needed” thanks to social media — I’ve had my fair share of regrets.

So here’s a little list of things I’ve stopped buying (or straight-up refuse to spend on) in my twenties — to save money *and* peace of mind. 👛✨

🤫 what no one tells you about being in your tw 🤫 what no one tells you about being in your twenties money edition ✨

📌Extra tips & lessons I’ve learned along the way:

① A sinking fund is money you set aside each month for a specific expense. I set aside a little each month for specific expenses—mine include medical bills, holidays, gifts and insurance.

② Having a capsule wardrobe have helped me curb impulse shopping. If I feel the urge to buy something new, I add it to a wishlist and give myself time to reflect. If I still want it later, I’ll consider buying it—ideally secondhand.

③ I personally prefer redirecting the money I might’ve spent on things like nails or facials towards bigger priorities—like my emergency fund, monthly investments, or my high-yield savings account.

④ Project panning (using up your existing skincare/haircare before buying more) has been a surprisingly effective way to reduce overconsumption.

⑤ Eating out is totally fine! I’m currently doing a low-buy year, so I allow myself to eat out once a week or for special occasions—it’s about balance, not restriction.

⑥ If you’re on the hunt for secondhand gems, try Depop, Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, or local Facebook swap/sell groups. You’ll be surprised at what you can find!
