Is this the most unique souvenir in Japan? 💮📔

Forget the usual keychains or magnets—one of the most memorable souvenirs you can collect in Japan are eki stamps. They’re a fun (and free!) way to document your travels, with each design reflecting the history, culture, or characters of the location.

✨ Where can I find stamps in Japan?
You’ll spot them at train stations, temples, castles, popular tourist spots, and even specialty character stores.

✨ Where to get a stamp book?
Bring your own notebook, or pick one up in Japan from stores like Itoya, Loft, or Tokyu Hands.

📌Tips for Collecting Stamps in Japan

① Always carry your notebook so you don’t miss one.

② Keep an eye out for limited edition stamps tied to seasonal events or anniversaries.

③ Most station stamps are near ticket gates—if you can’t find one, ask staff: eki stamp wa doko desu ka? or stampu arimasu ka?

④ Download the Stamp Quest app to help find locations (note: it doesn’t cover every stamp in Japan).

⑤ Treat it like a travel journal—it becomes a personalised keepsake of your journey.

📌 Want more Japan travel tips? My 3-week Japan itinerary is available for download. Comment itinerary and I'll send it to you.

🙇🏻‍♀️ Part 1 of media to read in your 🙇🏻‍♀️ Part 1 of media to read in your twenties ✨

Instead of my usual “media to consume instead of doom-scrolling,” I wanted to share a few of my favourite articles and essays that really capture the ups and downs of your twenties. These pieces have either helped me navigate this decade or perfectly described what it feels like to be in it.

Since I’ve officially wrapped up my early twenties, it felt like the right time to put this together. 📝

💌 Enjoyed this post? I share weekly media recommendations (books, films, articles, podcasts & more) in my newsletter—link in bio if you’d like to join.

💡 Want even more? Check out my full “media to consume instead of doom-scrolling” series on my profile.

👇🏼 Would you skip the usual spots in Japan?

There’s so much more to see beyond Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. ✨ On my fourth trip, I set out to explore places that don’t usually make the typical first-timer Japan travel guides, and it completely changed the experience.

One highlight was exploring Kyushu, a stunning region in southwest Japan. Think incredible food, hot springs, lush nature, dramatic landscapes… and way fewer crowds compared to the big three cities.

💬 Would you visit Japan in summer?

✨️mistakes I've made in my twenties 📝 We o ✨️mistakes I've made in my twenties 📝

We often treat birthdays as checkpoints for polished reflections, lists of milestones, wins, or lessons neatly tied up with a bow. But this year, I wanted to do the opposite.

To share the doubts, the stumbles, and the mistakes that have shaped me in my twenties. Because honestly, the most valuable lessons haven’t just come from getting it right, but from figuring things out the hard way.

If you’ve ever felt behind, uncertain, or like you’re the only one making it up as you go, you’re not alone.

And thank you so much for all the birthday wishes yesterday 💛

👇🏼 Would you visit the longest jetty in the 👇🏼 Would you visit the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere?

✨ Imagine walking nearly 2km straight out to sea… without leaving dry land. 🌊 This heritage-listed landmark has been standing since the 1800s, surviving cyclones, fires, and even near demolition, thanks to a passionate local community.

Here’s what you can do when you visit:
🚶‍♀️ Walk the jetty – soak in the ocean views and the history as you go.
🚂 Hop on the solar-powered train – a relaxing 45-minute round trip across the water, complete with stories of the bay.
🐠 Descend into the Underwater Observatory – 8 metres below the surface, where corals, sponges, and 300+ species of marine life thrive.
🎨 Snorkel or dive the sculpture park – an underwater gallery that doubles as an artificial reef.
🔬 Explore the Marine Discovery Centre – interactive exhibits for curious minds of all ages.

✨ Tips for visiting:

Book tickets for the train + observatory in advance.

Summer offers clear snorkelling days, while winter sunsets over the bay are magic.
